The Walk

Sevier Heights (the church where I work) has a service each Wednesday night strickly for college students called "The Walk". Its incredible!! Each week they serve the students some kind of meal and follow with worship and a message by Tim Miller, Brother Hollie's son. They have had such a tremendous response to this service!

Yesterday, they had an amazing opportunity to hold The Walk @ the Worlds Fair sight in downtown Knoxville. They had over 1100 in attendance and many decisons were made!! Praise the Lord. Click on the link below to see the pics...it's really moving!!

Celebrating the Last B-day in My Twenties!

Joshua and I had a great weekend....BUSY, but great! I cleaned all day Saturday and then that night Joshua and his family took me out to really nice dinner for my b-day. We had a wonderful time and they spoiled me rotten. :) THANK YOU for everything! I had a FABULOUS 29th Birthday!!

Here are just a couple of things that Joshua got me for my b-day. Mom, here is the picture I was telling you about...I LOVE it. Very shabby chic/vintage & I think it will look great in our new house (we should know about the house by Wednesday...keep you all posted)!

I have to give MAJOR props to Joshua for my b-day presents...he did a TERRIFIC job!! He hates shopping more than anything in the world, but he went into Anne Taylor Loft with Sally and picked this dress and these shoes out all by himself...didn't he do good? :)

Quick Update

Hey everyone...it's been a really busy, but FUN week in the Martin home!! Just wanted to give you all a quick update and let you know that Joshua & I found a house that we LOVE and we put a contract on it this week...we are SO excited! Now we're in the process of working out all the financial arrangements, so please pray that everything will fall into place. We truly feel like this house is a gift from the Lord. We should know something by Wednesday of next week (we are wating for the house to be appraised) and once I hear a for sure YES, I'll post some pics for everyone to see. If all goes well, our closing day is May 9th...which is SO SOON..YAY! :) Also, thanks to all of you for the b-day wishes. Yesterday I turned the big 2-9 and it was a WONDERFUL, WONDERFUL day! Stay tuned for a b-day post on Monday...have a great weekend!

House Hunting & Hooray for the LADY VOLS!!

EXCITING NEWS!!! Joshua and I were officially pre-approved for a mortgage loan this morning, so now its time for us to do some house hunting. We are SO excited...please pray that the Lord will give us the right house @ just the price!! We'll keep everyone posted. :)


Also, I want to give a BIG shout out to our AWESOME LADY VOLS who won their 8th National Championship last night....woo hoo!!!!!!!! The game was awesome!!!

April Fools...NOT!

Joshua called me on April Fools Day (April 1) with some shocking, but very exciting news!! One of Joshua's dearest friends, Seth Dye, called to inform him that he and his fiance, Jordan, had gone to Italy and eloped!! At first we thought this HAD to be an April Fools joke, but nope...it was the REAL DEAL!! Just to give you a little background info, Joshua has known Seth since they were children and we met Jordan at our wedding in December of 2006--but I feel like I've known her FOREVER. She is the sweetest thing. Anyways, they had a big wedding planned for this October in Jordan's home town, Birmingham, Alabama, but Seth's brother is in Iraq and they just didn't feel right about having a wedding without him there. So they both talked it over with their families and decided to fly to Italy to have a very memorable wedding & honeymoon...and you should just see their wedding pictures...the BEST I have ever seen!!! Joshua and I are so happy for Seth and Jordan and we spent Friday night celebrating their wedding & a few other things...

Out with the Old & In with the New

This past Saturday Joshua and I bought one of our very 1st BIG items as a married couple. We were so blessed because when we got married we were given many large gifts and we didn't really HAVE to buy a thing. But over the last year, we have tried to be good about paying off our debt & Joshua has shown me how to be a SAVER rather than a SPENDER :) so this weekend we treated ourselves to a brand new TV! We shopped all over for the best price & size (we wanted to make sure it would fit in our entertainment center) and we ended up getting the best deal @ hhgregg. We are EXCITED about our new TV and can't wait to share it with our friends/family!

SURPRISE!!!

Well, let me just say that the last couple of weeks have been SUPER FUN ones for my sister-in-law, Mandy. She had her 1st baby shower, she celebrated her 30th b-day and then this past Friday, our family & some of Mandy's friends from church & high school decided to throw her a SURPRISE 30th b-day party "GREASE STYLE".
