The Most Important Man In My Life

Over the weekend we celebrated the birthday of the MOST important man in my life, my wonderful husband, Joshua! We had an incredible weekend together and it reminded me of how much I love this man God has placed in my life to be my life-long partner & best friend. I feel so lucky & blessed to have him as my husband. Here's a recap of our fun weekend!!!!!!!!!!

Saturday night we enjoyed a yummy dinner @ Joshua's favorite restaurant in downtown Knoxville, the Butcher Shop. Joshua is a "steak & potatoes" kind of man, so to him, this was the PERFECT b-day dinner. I wasn't able to get a lot of pictures of the guys because they were bonding while cooking our steaks on the grill. In the meantime, us girls, kept ourselves entertained with the triplets & my camera. :) We finished the night @ our house with dessert (since Joshua doesn't like cake, we went with cheesecake instead) and presents with the entire family. We had a wonderful night....and as you can see from the pics, the triplets enjoyed the birthday celebration just as much as Joshua!

He told me it was the best b-day he's ever had, which made me so happy and made the weekend just that much better. I love you baby...Happy B-day!!

Busy Weekend!

This weekend was a wonderful, but BUSY weekend! First, I took a short trip to Charlotte for my friend, Jessica's wedding....it was a great time as I was able to see so many people that I miss and love! Then I got up really early on Sunday AM and headed back to Knoxville to meet up with my friend Kori who was here in town for a wedding. We had another special surprise when Alexis drove to Knoxville to meet up with us. It was a great reunion weekend and very refreshing after being with friends & family! Oh, and a special THANK YOU to Donna & Roy for letting me stay with them in Charlotte this weekend--I love you guys and will be praying for you as Roy Austin arrives this week! Can't wait to meet him. :) Here are a few pics from the weekend...and more to come, so stay tuned!

My Sweet Dad...

I know this family has had ALOT of b-days lately, but I feel terrible because my dad's b-day was on the 12th and I totally forgot to mention it on my blog!!!!!
So, here's to my sweet dad....

You & I share such a special relationship and I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world. You have always made me feel so important, so loved, and so precious. You have always listened to my intermost thoughts/feelings and everything that was important to me, was always important to you because no matter what, my happiness meant the world to you. You'll NEVER know what having a dad like that has meant in my life. I appreciate your wisdom, your advice, your encouragement, your trust, but most importantly, I appreciate the Godly example you've been to me over the years. How does a girl get so lucky to have a dad like that? :) I love you more than words can say and I'm so grateful for you. Happy B-lated Birthday!!! Phil. 1:3

My Special Dinner Dates!

Joshua has been in Atlanta this week for work and so I've been coming home to an empty house the last few days--and can I tell you, I don't like it one bit! I have never been the "needy" type and I really love my alone time, but this week I have missed my sweet hubby terribly! However, I've been keeping myself busy so I don't think about him being gone too much. Soooo, last night I had Joshua's cousin, Michael, his girlfriend Dezerre, and of course Oliver over for dinner and it was so much fun having them there. We had a great time and for someone who doesn't cook that much, I was proud of my dinner. I mean...you can't go wrong with spaghetti right? :) They were laughing @ me for taking pictures, but I told them I was going to blog about them & our dinner, so then they let me take more! haha Thanks for the company guys--and thanks for looking out for this lonely wife away from her husband! Joshie gets back TOMORROW...yeah!!!

After dinner, I got the house all cleaned up and ready for Joshua to come home! Then I watched The Holiday for the 15th time this week. If you have never seen that movie...make sure you see it! It's my new fav! :)
It was great and relaxing night............

Hello, Oliver!

For those of you who really know me, you can vouch for me when I say that I've never been a big dog person/lover. (Ask Roy or Donna Graham--I almost killed their dog Maggie once while I was dog-sitting--but of course, not on purpose!!) I mean, I like dogs, but just not in my house! I don't like the way they smell, I get annoyed when an "accident" occurs, and since I'm a clean freak, I hate dog hair! I probably sound like I'm being way too anal (and I probably am!), but thats just the way I've always been. However, when I married my sweet husband, I inherited a dog as well--the sweetest, yet ugliest dog you have ever met. Her name is Jasmine (her pic. is above). She's an English bull-dog with hereditary mange....yep, thats right! So, in all reality, she looks more like a pot bellied pig than a dog. But over the last 10 months, I have fallen in love with Jasmine! She is so obedient and loving and hontestly wouldn't hurt a fly...she sleeps the majority of the time too...which I love. :) haha So, this is a HUGE step for me...having a dog in my house and loving her being there!

Well, last night, we had a precious little visitor stop by our house...Oliver!! Michael (Joshua's cousin) bought his girlfriend the most ADORABLE little dog for her b-day so they called to see if they could stop by to show us...by the time they left, I was asking Joshua if we could get ANOTHER dog...can you believe that? I think Joshua fell in love with Oliver too. Who knows, maybe I'm a dog lover after all??????

PS--As you can see, Jasmine is no where to be found in these pictures. She was upstairs on her bed pouting because another dog was getting some attention. I guess thats what happens when you have only 1 dog...kind of like an only-child syndrome! (no offense to only children...their not all like that!!) haha :)

A Very Special B-day Shout-Out!

mother-in-law had a birthday this past Saturday!
So....here's a BIG b-day wish for a VERY special person in my life....

Happy B-day Sally!!!!!

Thank you for being the best mother-in-law a girl could ask for! I am so thankful for your love and for your friendship! Can't wait to spend MANY more b-days together.....

I love you so much!!

10 Years Later....

Joshua and I got back last night from an amazing weekend in my hometown city--Va. Beach, VA. We took a special visit there for my 10 year high school reunion! Since my church & school were such a HUGE part of my life growing up (I was there K-4- 12th grade) it was so much fun taking Joshua back to meet everyone (most of them for the 1st time) and show him my life there. Everyone LOVED him and I think he had a really GREAT time! We were able to spend a lot of special time seeing SO many people that I love...especially my wonderful g-parents!

Here are a couple of pics from our big weekend!
